Fastest response

Emergency Plumbing

Burst pipes, failed flexi hoses and water everywhere. On tank supply there is no meter to warn you, so a leak drains the tank instead of the wallet. We're on call across the Hawkesbury 24/7.

Emergency call-outs

Hot Water

Repairs and same-day swaps for gas, electric, heat-pump and solar units. On pump-fed supply we check the pump and inlet filters first, because a starved continuous flow unit looks exactly like a failed one.

Hot water repairs

Gas Fitting

Licensed gas work on cooktops, heaters and lines, with the certificate issued on site. Older Richmond homes often hide undersized or non-compliant gas runs, and we bring them up to code.

Taps, Leaks & Burst Pipes

Dripping taps, hidden leaks and burst pipes traced and fixed. On acreage the buried run is long, so we locate acoustically and mark the spot rather than trenching along it.

Burst pipes & leak repairs

Toilets & Tapware

New toilets, vanities and tapware fitted in a single visit, including the tight original rough-ins common in Richmond's Federation and inter-war homes.

What a plumber costs in Richmond

Very few plumbing sites will name a figure. These are 2026 Sydney entry numbers, published so you have something solid to hold any quote against, ours included. They cover the general case: getting a van to the door, and what the market charges by the hour. Prices for specific work sit on each service page.

01

Getting someone out: $0–$180

Booked through here there is no attendance fee at all. Arranged another way, a standard Sydney call-out sits at the upper end of that band.

02

The hourly rate you will be quoted elsewhere: $100–$150

The prevailing daytime rate across Sydney, and the unstated basis of most quotes. We do not charge by the hour, and the reason follows.

03

After hours, weekends and holidays: $180–$250

The usual after-hours loading in this market. We add none: the figure agreed before we set off is what you pay.

04

A typical emergency repair: $250–$700

Making a burst safe, clearing a line, isolating a gas fault. Priced as a job, not as a clock from arrival.

05

Your fixed price: agreed first

Confirmed in writing before work begins. If the job changes once we can see it, nothing proceeds until you approve the new number.

Two of these figures belong to the market rather than to us, shown on purpose. An hourly rate measures the plumber's time, not your problem, and it makes a slow afternoon your expense. We price the work itself, so the figure approved is the figure charged. When you already know the job, the real figures are on the blocked drains, pipe relining, burst pipes and leaks, hot water and gas fitting pages.

The difference between a plumber and a licensed plumber.

Anyone can call themselves a plumber. A licensed one carries a NSW licence number, genuine insurance and the legal accountability that comes with both. It is why a certificate on a gas job, or a signature on a completed repair, is worth something.

Our Richmond plumbers are fully licensed, insured and local. Every job, no matter the size, is done to code with a lifetime workmanship warranty.

Plumbing in Richmond

Plumbing around Richmond breaks two assumptions the rest of Sydney takes for granted. Plenty of properties here are not connected to sewer, running a septic tank or an aerated system instead, so a backup is very often the system rather than the pipe. And plenty are not on town water, running rainwater tanks and a pressure pump, which removes the water meter that every leak test ever written depends on. Add a river that floods, and you have a district where the right first question is rarely the obvious one. From Hobartville and Windsor out to Wilberforce, Kurrajong and Pitt Town, a licensed local plumber is only minutes away, same-day and 24/7 for genuine emergencies.

Common plumbing problems we see in Richmond

  • Reactive-clay pipe cracks. A great many properties here run a septic or aerated system, so a backup is often a full tank or a saturated disposal area with the line itself completely clear.
  • Hot water systems giving out. On tank supply the inlet filters clog with sediment that town water never carries, which starves the heater and reads as a fault. We repair or replace gas, electric, heat-pump and solar, often same day.
  • Ageing galvanised & earthenware pipe. Older homes in Hobartville, North Richmond and Bligh Park still run on steel and clay pipe that rusts, roots and splits over time.
  • Gas fitting & compliance. Appliances connected and certified, and flood-affected installations inspected before anything is relit. Our licensed gas fitters certify on the spot.
  • Strata & apartment plumbing. On rainwater supply there is no meter to test, so the pressure pump becomes the instrument. A pump that cycles with every tap closed is reporting a leak.
  • Storm & stormwater backups. Heavy Richmond downpours overwhelm stormwater pits and back up into yards and under houses.

How much does a plumber charge per hour in Richmond?

Most Sydney plumbers work at roughly $100 to $150 an hour, and an hourly rate hides what the job will actually come to. The job is priced whole before we begin, so what you approve is fixed and nothing is appended later.

How fast can you get to me in Richmond?

For genuine emergencies we aim to have a licensed plumber to you within the hour across Richmond and the surrounding suburbs, day or night, weekends and public holidays included.

Do you charge a call-out fee?

Any attendance or after-hours fee is stated before we leave, so the invoice never carries something you have not already heard. Book through this site and the standard attendance fee comes off entirely.

How do I know you're a licensed plumber?

Our licence number is 368473C, and the NSW Fair Trading register will confirm it in under a minute. Plumbing done without a licence is illegal here and voids your home insurance, so make a habit of asking for the number first. Ours appears on every quote we send.

My hot water runs lukewarm or cuts out. Why?

On pump-fed supply, a good deal of what looks like a failing water heater is actually a supply problem. A continuous flow unit will not stay lit below a minimum flow rate, and a tired pressure pump or a clogged inlet filter sits right on that threshold. We check the supply before condemning the heater, then tell you whether a repair or a replacement is the smarter spend.

My drain keeps blocking. Is it the pipe?

Possibly, but on an unsewered property the first question is whether the pipe is the problem at all. A tank that is full, a failed pump or a disposal area too saturated to take effluent all present at the toilet exactly like a blockage, with the line perfectly clear. We establish which before quoting, and where the pipe genuinely has failed we can reline rather than dig, which on a long rural run makes a very large difference.

Do you work on septic and aerated systems?

Yes, and it is routine work here rather than an occasional oddity. Septic tanks, aerated treatment systems, the house-to-tank line and the effluent disposal area are all part of the picture on a great many Hawkesbury properties. We will also tell you when what you need is a pump-out or a system service rather than a plumber, which costs us the job and is still the right answer.

Do you do strata and apartment plumbing around the Richmond CBD?

We do, and after a flood there is one thing worth saying plainly: do not relight gas appliances that have been under water. Water reaches the control valve, the flame sensor and the regulator, and an appliance can light and run normally with a safety control that no longer works. Leave the gas isolated and have the installation inspected and recommissioned before it goes back into service.

What areas around Richmond do you cover?

The whole Richmond LGA and every suburb around it: North Richmond, Hobartville, Windsor, South Windsor, Bligh Park, McGraths Hill, Clarendon, Vineyard and more.

Hot water systems we service and replace

Hot water is what we get called about most, and these are the makes behind it. A storage tank remains a sensible choice on pump-fed supply because it is far less sensitive to flow than anything instantaneous, which is worth knowing before you choose. Repairing and replacing hot water systems makes up more of our work than anything else, and we will say openly what a job costs and when a unit has passed the point of being worth fixing.

These systems are serviced and replaced by us as an independent licensed plumber. No manufacturer here appoints us as an agent or endorses us.
